I landed in San Jose in the evening and I got to the hostel pretty late. It was advised that I do not walk outside alone in the evening. But I needed to eat! So I asked them where I can get food and the closest restaurant happens to be found at another hostel across from mine. That's not too bad. So I made the walk, found the restaurant, ordered the food. It was taking a long time to get my meal...and I was hesitant to strike a conversation with the guy sitting across from me....But whatever, I took the first step and I asked him the following question "how long did it take for you to get your food?!". We then spent the next hour talking about his upbringing in Switzerland, his motivation, our travel experience, etc. He turns out to be a super nice guy who has been travelling for 5 months now...and he has another 3 months to go. WOW!!

p.s. He is the second globetrotter to recommend the app Maps.me as a travelling tool, so I finally installed it. So far so good.
